Running Coach v AI

Why would someone hire a running coach when AI exists?

Many people’s careers face threats from customers switching to Artificial Intelligence (AI), none more so than those in the fitness industry. Will AI however do the job of a proper coach or is it just the cheap option?

A good coach isn't just giving you a training plan and pace chart to follow.

At first glance a runner seeking support wouldn't notice that a AI generated plan might lack, periodisation, correct overload, or specificity to the client.

A good coach is helping you;

plan your training around a busy work, home, and social life

adapt training to real life progressions

enjoy training and understanding what makes you tick!

recover from injury or illness

with decision making

to stay motivated and focused

deal with thought processes

A running coach will no doubt have a running background and experience of running 10ks, half marathons, marathons and therefore knows what it takes to be a runner. They have presumably trained hundreds of clients to help them achieve their goals. A coach can assess your running background to identify the changes you need to make to bring about progression.

You don’t need a PDF and some automated words of encouragement, you need a coach that will adapt a plan for you and fight in your corner. Someone that you can talk to, that is real, and can understand everything about you.

Don’t speak to a robot to help your running, speak to a real running coach.
